Daihatsu halts shipments of all vehicles following safety investigation

Daihatsu has shut down all production in Japan and halted the domestic and export shipment of vehicles following an investigation into safety procedure irregularities

A third-party investigation in to safety procedures at Daihatsu found a total of 174 procedural irregularities identified, with the oldest going back as far as 1989 and an increase in the number since 2014.
